I have been using this treadmill for 6 months. I absolutely love it. It feel rock solid for my 200lb frame. The 20" x 57" belt size is perfect for my height of 6 feet. I love the fact its very basic and has no frills. It makes it very easy to use. I would re buy this treadmill it a new York minute.

Basically solid, but nothing else

I have had this treadmill for over a year now. I won't go into the long, drawn-out process it took to actually get a working model in my house and set up, that's a story in itself.

The treadmill itself is a good solid machine. I have no complaints with that part of it. My complaints have to do with the display board. First off, why the heck can't you "save" your data as a user? Dumb, dumb, dumb design. So you either have to spend time before EVERY session inputting your data with those tiresome arrows or use the default (and they don't tell you what that is either). The Owner's Manuel was useless. I am sorry I bought a Precor, although I'm sure I'll be stuck with it for a while.....if the company could "upgrade" the display board to allow saving data, I'd be a whole lot more satisfied.

Note that it does NOT show distance to the hundredths, so you cannot determine when you’re on the quarter mile; e.g. mileage shows 0.2 or 0.3, which is an incredibly poor design decision and very frustrating. I am also unable to get a heart rate reading that is anywhere near accurate; I’ve given up on this feature entirely. I am in good running condition and found the 10k “fun run” preset to be brutally difficult going nearly straight to a 10% grade.

Otherwise, it’s a very nice unit. It seems solidly built and it’s very quiet. It’s also simple to use.

Broken in 3 weeks

Purchased the 9.23 because I wanted a reliable machine to help me train during the winter months. After 3 weeks of use the lift motor malfunctioned during a run. I am currently waiting for the machine to be repaired under warranty. I am unhappy with my purchase.

P2 & P3 programs are defective

All of my communications with the tech dept at Precor have been positive in reqards to courtesy and professionalism. The problem is none of the techs I talked to have any product knowledge whatsoever on the 9.23 treadmill. The P2 and P3 programs are both defective and even though Precor sent out a new brain on the headboard, it did the same thing by reducing in speed to 1 mph after a few minutes on each program. There is no solution according to the tech dept at Precor. It took 1.5 months to finally get service and then when it was done, the attempted repair didn't work, and Precor's response is, "Well, that's just the way it's programmed, and there's nothing more we can do." It's like buying a new car and then the car decelerates to 10 mph and the manufacturer, says, well thats the way it is... I will just use the programs that do work and avoid P2 and P3. Precor does make excellent equipment and I believe the 9.23 even though an entry level treadmill, it's still A+. It was just programmed incorrectly on the P2 and P3 levels and Precor apparently doesn't know how to fix it.

This is the first treadmill my wife and I have ever purchased. We wanted one close to the ones we use at the gym and was thrilled to find this product. It is perfect for the two of us to use indoors training over the winter. Love the basic features and the fact that we can just get on and run and not have to worry about a lot of programming. Even better to jump on any time and not have to travel to the gym or wait for open machine. The feel of the belt is nice. It has just the right amount of give so it doesnt feel hard but also isnt crazy bouncy. If your looking for a great product with a great price don't hesitate to purchase this.

Don’t buy – poor quality for a high price

I purchased this machine at a store about 3 years ago. I was told that for the much higher price you pay for a Precor, you get a much higher quality and piece of mind.
Well, within just a few short months, the machine broke down and a technician came out and replaced all the electronics. At least this was completely covered under warranty. Now, 3 years later, when the warranty only covers parts and not labor, the machine needs a new deck and belt. So just for labor I’m paying $260. And some parts are on back-order, so I’ll have to wait for about a month before I could use my tread mill again. This machine was never abused nor used excessively, so to the deck practically broken in the middle is astonishing.
My conclusion? Go for a cheaper brand, as the quality cannot be worse, and at least you’ll save the money.

Just a simple basic treadmill. I am a runner. I have gone through 2 treadmills at home this is my third and first precor. By far the best and most durable of the three.

I bought this unit seven years ago. Never had a problem and have over 5000 miles on it. The consistency and reliabilty has paid off many times over!

I purchased this treadmill for my wife who wanted to walk/jog next to me while I ride my bike on the stationary trainer. We really enjoy the workouts together. She is extremely happy and satisfied with it. I used it for the first time today. I am more of a road runner while training, but really enjoyed the feel of the 9.23. It was smooth, soft on the feet, sturdy, and just overall great to run on for the 5 miles I put on today. It actually felt better than some of the gym versions. I will definitely be using it more indoors now after today.
Overall, we really like the simplicity...no fancy bells and whistles. We set it up ourselves and it took about 30 minutes. Instructions were very simple.
I highly recommend this product to others.
