Club Industry reports that reliability is the important feature on which club operators need to focus when considering which treadmills to purchase for their facilities. Because they have the highest average usage rates for cardio equipment, gym operators told Precor in research study that they considered reliability one of their most important evaluation factors.

Precor Among Leading Philanthropic Companies in Puget Sound Region

Precor Honored for Charitable Contributions at Puget Sound Business Journal Corporate Citizenship Awards Event

Woodinville, WA — May 27, 2014 — Precor®, a leading commercial and home fitness equipment manufacturer, today announced the Puget Sound Business Journal has named it one of the most philanthropic companies in the Puget Sound for its “Precor Cares” and “Precor Gives” charitable giving programs. Precor donated more than $800K in 2013, earning it a second place ranking among 25 medium-sized businesses in the Puget Sound region. The company was honored at the Corporate Citizenship Awards Luncheon May 22 at the Seattle Marriott Waterfront hotel.

“Our Corporate Citizenship event and publication allows us to recognize 75 companies from the Puget Sound region who collectively donated more than $1 billion in cash to charitable causes around the globe, and close to $120 million of that here in Washington,” said Gordon Prouty, publisher of the Puget Sound Business Journal. “We’re pleased to recognize Precor as one of these outstanding organizations for their ongoing generosity and commitment to philanthropy.”

Established in 2006, the “Precor Gives” program empowers company employees to give to the charity of their choice. The company then matches employee contributions dollar for dollar up to $10,000 per employee, per year. Some of the supported charities in 2013 include Susan G. Komen, the American Diabetes Association and Habitat for Humanity, as well as local organizations including local Boys & Girls Clubs, Northwest Harvest, and the Coastal Conservation Association.

Through “Precor Cares,” the company has teamed up with the YMCA of the USA (Y-USA) to award local YMCAs grants that advance the implementation of the Healthy Eating and Physical Activity (HEPA) program. To date, the company’s donations have benefited more than 40 Y communities across the nation.

“Our work with employee-sponsored charitable groups and the YMCA has allowed us to scale our giving programs to reach more people in need more quickly,” said Rob Barker, president of Precor. “We’re honored to be recognized for supporting causes near and dear to Precor team members and our partner organizations.”

The Corporate Citizenship Awards program is co-sponsored by the Seattle Foundation, whose mission is to “foster powerful and rewarding philanthropy to make King County a stronger, more vibrant community for all.” Read more about the top Puget Sound corporate philanthropists and their contributions in the Puget Sound Business Journal’s May 23 Corporate Citizenship special report.

Step 1: Log into Preva Business Suite
Every few weeks log into PBS to check on your equipment, update messaging, run the Exerciser Activity Report, and refresh facility feeds.  You should have received login information via email at the time your order was placed.  If not, please contact your sales representative.

Step 2: Sign your team up for training
Interactive training modules and webinars are available to help implement and educate your team on Preva.

Tip - Once your staff is initially trained, schedule periodic training sessions to keep your staff up to speed.

Step 3: Market Preva in your Facility
In-club collateral, email templates, and how-to guides are readily available to help promote Preva in your facility. View a list of resources here.

Step 4: Preva Tokens!
Increase usage and engagement through quick Preva Account access through RFID enabled Preva Tokens. Data shows that exercisers with a token and goals workout on average 4x more often, which can lead to more engagement opportunities and increased retention.

Learn more about the Token here.

Step 5: Preva for new exercisers
Wrap Preva into all new exerciser orientations and tours. Create a Preva account for each new member and help them set goals, associate a Preva Token with their account, and download the Preva Mobile app. The app is a great way to speed this process up. Staff can help exercisers create an account away from the cardio equipment, and it will be immediately available on the P80 console.

Tip - The mobile app is a great way to keep track of workouts outside of your facility so that when exercisers return, they are still tracking to their goals.
